What is a dry riser strap and padlock?
A dry riser strap and padlock is an anti-tamper fitting used to secure an outlet valve’s handwheel in the closed position, helping to prevent unauthorised operation.
The leather strap is fitted around the handwheel and valve body and secured with a padlock. Dry Riser One supplies a 24-inch leather strap with a 30 mm brass padlock, keyed alike so that matching padlocks can be opened using the same key.
If a dry riser outlet valve is left open, water can escape when the system is pressurised, potentially reducing the pressure and flow available for firefighting.
